Federal & State Solar Energy Compliance
Big Dog Solar provides competitive bids on Federal and State jobs. In order to do so, we are required to keep current and compliant with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. While not all licenses and regulations can be explained or addressed on this page, a brief explanation of the most common and widely applicable regulations can be found below. For additional information, or to request a bid on a state or federal solar energy project, please contact us at anytime.
Davis-Bacon and Related Act Compliance:
Big Dog Solar Energy adheres to all local, state and federal regulations. Specifically, we make sure to comply with the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts. As determined by the Department of Labor, our employees receive fair compensation commensurate with comparable earnings for similar work within the region of employment. We realize that this can vary greatly depending on the geographical location for any given state or federal solar energy project, and thus strive to be extremely agile in our structure in order to maintain compliance.
Data Universal Numbering System:
We also abide by the requirement to obtain a DUNS Number. This is a numbering system which is developed and regulated by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). This proprietary system assigns a numeric identifier to each business entity, which is referred to as the “DUNS number”.
SAM stands for System for Award Management and is for combining federal procurement systems and the Catalog of FEderal Domestic Assistance into one singular, efficient system.
Some of the areas of improved functionality are:
- Central Contractor Registry (CCR)
- Federal Agency Registration (Fedreg)
- Online Representations and Certifications Application
- Excluded Parties List System (EPLS)
By adhering to the SAM Registration requirements we offer a much more streamlined and integrated process, help eliminate redundant data, reduce costs, and improve our overall capability.
Public Works Contractors:
In many states there are requirements to maintain a Public Works Contractors License. The program ensures that the businesses performing construction on public works projects have both the financial wherewithal and technical knowledge & expertise to perform in a professional manner.
These licenses can take a lot of time and money to obtain, but Big Dog Solar Energy is committed to full compliance and unparalleled service. To that end we continually strive to obtain any and all necessary licenses that individual states may require.
