In the spring of 2015 we were approached by Ag Texas Farm Credit Services out of Amarillo, TX to place a bid for a large commercial solar energy system to help offset the power costs for their new building being erected. This particular system was used 260-kilowatt panels, and because of the energy demands required 384 panels to be installed. Not only that, but we were also asked to build the entire carport structure which the panels were to be installed on. Once we were awarded the project in June of 2015, we began the process of designing the structure and the solar system. The system design was one thing. Next came the task of procuring all materials needed for the entire project. Additionally, all licensing and compliance requirements needed to be met and in proper order before the build could actually take place. In January of 2016 our crews began the build. At the time of this writing we are very near completion with only a couple of “button up” items remaining to be done within the next week. View our photos below to see how the project went.
