Sometimes the best way to talk about solar is to have a little fun with it.
In this Big Dog Solar skit, a homeowner says he’s finally ready to explore solar after watching the company’s Facebook videos. There’s only one problem: he has some pretty strong opinions about the guy who appears in them.
As the solar consultation gets underway, the customer and consultant review the power bill, talk about the potential system, and discuss getting an installation crew scheduled. Meanwhile, the customer keeps taking playful shots at “the guy from the Facebook videos” — including questioning his math skills and worrying about his bald head getting sunburned.
The punchline comes when Mitch himself walks in and realizes exactly who they’ve been talking about.
Behind the jokes, the video shows a few of the basic steps homeowners can expect when starting the solar process: reviewing electricity usage, looking at system options, and discussing installation timing.
“So, you’re interested in solar?”
“Yeah. I’ve been seeing your Facebook videos and finally decided it’s time to go solar.”
“Those videos are good, huh?”
“Yeah, they’re great. I mean, the guy in them is a little obnoxious, but the information is good.”
“Yeah, he’s pretty funny.”
“Anyway, let’s take a look at your power bill and see what we can do.”
“Yeah, it’s right here.”
“Perfect. Yeah, this is looking really good.”
“You know, I’m glad they sent you instead of that guy from the videos. He doesn’t seem like the type of guy who’s very good with numbers, if you know what I mean.”
“Yeah. Totally.”
“So, we could get an install crew here in just a couple of weeks.”
“Yeah, sounds great.”
“Let me know if that guy from the Facebook video shows up. I don’t want his bald head to get sunburned, so I have a hat for him to wear.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yeah. Just trying to be considerate.”
“Anyway, I’m super excited about getting solar.”
“Well, I’m excited for you.”
“Oh, hey Mitch.”
“Okay, wait…”
“Nice shorts.”
